💧 When a valued client’s yard kept getting inundated during rainfall – remaining waterlogged for extended periods afterwards – they reached out and engaged us with a clear scope:

1️⃣ Clean out the affected stormwater network
2️⃣ Locate and map the entire system
3️⃣ Provide practical recommendations to improve flow, where required

👷‍♂️ Sounds straightforward – but like most things underground, this job came with its own set of challenges. Thankfully, with the right team, the right equipment, and the right approach, we turned what could’ve been a mammoth task into a smooth and efficient operation.

🚛 Over just 2.5 days, we worked methodically from the furthest known upstream node, heading downstream – locating, exposing, and mapping numerous buried sumps and manholes. Some of these apparently hadn’t been seen in nearly 20 years! We removed 6 truckloads of waste (that’s 36 cubic metres!) from the system and fully cleared the network right through to the stormwater outlet.

📹 With all components cleaned and mapped, we followed up with high-quality CCTV Inspections, giving our client a crystal-clear view of the network’s condition. Our findings included:
• Pipes typically sitting between 50-100% blocked with debris and water
• Severe backflow issues caused by dips, structural defects, and outlet restrictions
• A section of pipe capped off entirely, leaving upstream water with no path to discharge
