Root Cause Revealed

🧱 This recent job involved a repeat wastewater blockage at a residential property that had become all too familiar for the residents. We worked alongside a local plumber to access the main wastewater lateral, and what we discovered confirmed the ongoing issues: an extensive root mass infiltrating the pipeline through multiple defects in the old earthenware pipe.

🌿 As shown in the photos, roots had made their way all the way through to the council manhole – no wonder blockages were occurring! Due to the diameter and joint displacement in the pipe, a root cutter couldn’t be safely used – but using our specialised jetting nozzles designed to penetrate and grab dense root masses, we were able to remove around 99% of the blockage.

💧We successfully restored flow through the line, providing temporary relief for the tenants and homeowner. While the pipe is still vulnerable to root regrowth and potential structural faults, the immediate issue has been resolved – giving the client valuable breathing room to arrange a long-term solution.

✅ Sometimes you just have to go deep to find the root cause of the issue (pun intended) – and in this case, we’re glad we did.
